Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced developer to work on our real-time data processing and RESTful microservices in Scala. You will be working with the Typelevel stack, Kafka, Cassandra, Kubernetes, GCP, and AWS. Good working knowledge of Akka HTTP and Akka Streams is required to support our existing services. You will also be involved in exploring how our personalization services can evolve with machine learning. As part of a cross-functional agile team, you will have the freedom to self-organize and work towards delivering a high-quality application. It is important that you champion best practices such as Pair Programming and TDD to develop clean, resilient code that performs at scale. Additionally, you will be responsible for coaching and providing feedback to fellow developers and contributing to our engineering culture focused on DevOps and GitOps principles.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Scala
• Experience with real-time data processing and RESTful microservices
• Knowledge of Typelevel stack, Kafka, Cassandra, Kubernetes, GCP, and AWS
• Good working knowledge of Akka HTTP and Akka Streams
• Familiarity with machine learning
• Ability to self-organize and work in a cross-functional agile team
• Experience with continuous integration and delivery
• Strong understanding of Pair Programming and TDD
• Ability to coach and provide feedback to fellow developers
• Experience with DevOps and GitOps principles

Additional Information:

Job Type: Temporary Contract

Pay: £300.00-£400.00 per hour

Expected hours: 9 per week

Schedule: Day shift

Ability to Commute: Brentwood (required)

Ability to Relocate: Brentwood - Relocate before starting work (required)
