Job Description:

The Part-Time Videographer is a vital role encompassing the execution and management of filming, and all related production aspects. This position involves handling all filming equipment and technical setup, directing on-camera talent, ensuring the capture of high-quality footage, and maintaining rigorous standards in execution and post-shoot processes. This role is pivotal in shaping the visual narrative of our projects and requires a blend of technical know-how, strategic planning, and strong leadership. The Videographer is expected to demonstrate expertise in creating comprehensive production plans, collaborating with stakeholders to align on project goals, and upholding exceptional quality in all facets of film production.

Role Responsibilities:

BEFORE PRODUCTION:

• Collaboration: Prepare online folders for rehearsal and review of scripts and other materials and share with talent.
• Leadership: Organize and lead pre-shoot meetings with the on-camera talent to review the production plan and communicate expectations, guidelines, and production day logistics.
• Production: Review the provided script, video treatment, outline, and/ or shot list in preparation of formulating a filming production plan.
• Equipment: Maintain an organized inventory list of all equipment with detailed statuses of current condition.

DURING PRODUCTION:

• Collaboration: Organize and lead an on-site, pre-shoot huddle with all talent and others involved in the shoot to review the production plan and communicate expectations, guidelines, and production logistics.
• Leadership: Provide coaching and direction to talent during filming to maintain quality standards and ensure alignment with the production plan.
• Production: Successfully manage and execute on all aspects of the production singlehandedly.
• Equipment: Responsible for the full setup and operation of all audio and video equipment, tools, and accessories.

AFTER PRODUCTION:

• Collaboration: Participate in post-filming debriefs to evaluate and report on all aspects of the production, deliver and gather feedback for future improvement, and document insights and key learnings from the shoot.
• Leadership: Provide constructive feedback and appreciation to all talent and others involved in the shoot, recognizing individual effort and integrity during and in preparation for filming.
• Production: Ensure the digital delivery of all uncut footage within 2 days post-shoot. Document and archive the production plan and any related materials for future reference.
• Equipment: Oversee the safe dismantling, packing, and inventory of all equipment. Conduct post-event equipment assessments and updates to inventory records.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in videography and media production.
• Strong leadership and production management skills.
• Excellent organizational and strategic planning abilities.
• Proficiency in videography.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic environments.

Additional Information:

• Time-Availability Information: Commitment to predetermined filming dates, varying from 2 to 6 times per month on average – (fluctuations based on needs and talent availability). Flexibility for shoots lasting 3 to 8+ hours, occurring in our San Antonio Office in-studio. Availability for communication and coordination Monday through Friday.
