Job Description

ApertureAlley is looking for a videographer who can reliably and accurately capture video recordings of legal depositions in accordance with client needs and legal requirements. We are currently looking for candidates that are able to work remotely when requested at their homes and in person throughout New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania when requested. Each Videographer is expected to accept jobs up to an hour and a half to 2 hours away, although we will prioritize closer jobs to you first.

We are looking for Strong Monday through Friday coverage as those are the days we are handling these jobs. Please Note this is a Contracted Positions. You have flexibility in your schedule and availability, but we are looking for people that can give us strong availability consistently. Job Length and amount of assignments will vary week to week.

This is a contracted job. This should not be your only source of employment as hours weekly range from 20 - 40 hours. Sometimes more sometimes less. We do have people that are full-time with us and you could be offered enough work to be close to full-time. But we want to make sure that you are actually a freelancer/contractor and not expecting formal employment. The amount of assignments and hours per week will vary depending on your availability and how busy the company is.

Depositions range in time, some are 2 hours long, others are 8+ hours long, so we are looking for someone that has a very flexible schedule. You must be prepared to submit your availability a week in advance so we can lock you in on jobs. We expect to get you 3 to 5 jobs a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Record accurately and reliably video of legal proceedings.
• Resolves issues and escalate as needed to ensure prompt and accurate resolution
• Manage video product inventory life cycle from sourcing through return including organizing pre-production and production materials for shoots
• Ensure that all client (internal and external) communications are handled in a professional, timely, and courteous manner
• Must be a clear communicator through email, texts, and our internal slack channels

Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• High level proficiency in Computers and MS Office required
• High level proficiency in relevant software packages and applications
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills
• High level of understanding of video production workflow, strong foundational knowledge of cameras
• Reliable transportation will be needed to go to assignments.

Gear Requirements - Remote

• 2 Computers (preferable PC but mac will work too as we use OBS for screen recording which works best on PC)
• 2 monitors for one of your computers
• Fast internet (upload and download)
• UPS Battery backup in case power goes out. (unless you are on laptops)
• Private Space to work
• Remote Gear can be recommended. Investment can be under $500 if starting from nothing

• Reliable Transportation (You must own a car)
• Camcorder with XLR Audio and Date Stamp
• Tripod
• Audio Mixer (4 channel XLR mixer)
• Lav Microphones (4 to 5 XLR Lavs)
• XLR Cords
• Backdrop (gray or black is ideal)
• Personal Computer
• Extra Computer / Tablet for Zoom Connections for Hybrid Setup
• Headphones

Additional Information

• Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
• Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Ability to Relocate: Pennsylvania: Relocate before starting work (Required)
• Willingness to travel: 50% (Preferred)
• Work Location: On the road
