Job Description:

Our client is a key player within the food manufacturing sector, based in Manchester. We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join their team on a 3-month contract. The duties of this role include:

• Reactive support for site automation issues
• Demonstrate a structured problem-solving approach
• Ownership of minor automation Capex projects
• Support project delivery of other site projects with automation elements
• Facilitating site activities to centrally delivered Capex projects
• Maintain and monitor use of automation and electrical system software and documentation
• Liaise with the Automation Development team
• Ensure compliance with group electrical and automation standards
• Responsible for obsolescence management
• Evaluate performance data to deliver improvements in efficiency and operability
• Ownership of site panel risk assessment register and periodic health checks
• Specialist automation support to site improvement initiatives
• Utilize specialist skills and systems access to validate and analyze site data

Requirements:

• Excellent experience working within Automation, preferably from a Food manufacturing background
• Strong Health and Safety awareness
• Able to work autonomously with a ‘right first time’ mentality
• Experience within fast-paced manufacturing and production environments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, punctual, team player, and professional attitude
• Own tools required

Additional Information:

• Location: Manchester
• Job Type: Contract
• Salary: £45 - £50 per hour
• Shifts: Days only (40 hours) with overtime available
