Job Description:

Exploding Kittens is seeking a 2D animator and comedy writer with solid experience making funny, relatable, popular content with a history of viral online successes. The ideal candidate will help us build and reach new audiences by making humorous videos for our social channels. We are seeking a proven creative who has a robust following of their own or can provide examples of work they’ve directly created for other companies.

The 2D Animator / Comedy Writer is responsible for writing, drawing, and animating short-form content on Exploding Kittens social accounts. They will work directly with Matthew Inman (The Oatmeal and co-founder of Exploding Kittens) to brainstorm, create, and develop unique and funny content to grow brand awareness and promote new products through animated social media videos.

Requirements:

• Written and animated at least 3 comedy videos that have reached over 100,000 views on TikTok or Instagram in the last year and can provide content examples.
• 2+ years of creating animated content for social media.
• A background in comedy, comics, or animation.
• Working knowledge of 2D Animation & Production processes.
• Proficiency with design software, including Adobe Creative Suite.
• Great communication skills and the ability to give and receive critical feedback in a small team environment.
• Knowledge of social media and digital video platforms.
• Recommended: Understanding of digital analytics and how to evaluate the sales lift resulting from your creative.
