Job Description

Job Title: Musician - Pianist

Status: Part Time

Exemption Status: Non-exempt

Salary Grade: 27

Department/Location: SS Peter & Paul Parish / Tucson, AZ

Primary Function: Performing during the weekly liturgical music program for Sunday and liturgical celebrations under the direction of the Liturgy/Music Director and Pastor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform as a lay minister in support of the parish’s spiritual and pastoral mission.
• Attend scheduled rehearsals and be prepared for weekly rehearsals.
• Maintain respect for the church building, attend Music Ministry meetings, and participate in parish events.
• Accountability to the Pastor through the Liturgy/Music Director and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Possess a working knowledge of and strong commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church; must be a practicing Catholic.
• Employ flexibility, be a team player, self-motivated, and able to multitask with a sense of urgency.
• Excellent communication skills, clean and neat personal appearance, and ability to pass background checks.
• Experience with Catholic liturgical music.

Physical/Mental Requirements

Requires coordination, manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability, as well as the ability to lift in a music and office environment.

Required Activities

• Walking, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, talking, handling, hearing, carrying, and keyboarding.

Education and Experience

Experience with Catholic liturgical music.
