Job Description
The Maham Suhail Project is seeking a proficient Guitarist to join Maham’s band for live gigs and upcoming festival applications. The band’s sound combines genres like Jazz, World, Blues, and Free Improv.
- Must be familiar with various time signatures such as 4/4, 7/8, 6/4
- Confident improviser
- Ability to contribute original ideas to live arrangements
- Interest in genre crossovers like Jazz, Blues, Folk, World Fusion
Requirements
- Interest in genre overlaps
- Experience playing in bands or ensembles
- Ability to improvise with lead sheets/chord symbols
- Strong collaborative skills
- Good work ethic
- Availability for fortnightly jams
- Proficient in Acoustic guitar, owning and playing Electric guitar for a few Rock/Alternative numbers
- Empathy and teamwork
Other Information
- Travel and food costs covered for first 2 rehearsals, followed by nominal fee and paid rehearsals
- Performance and rehearsal fees for booked gigs will be paid based on individual terms
- Showcase concert compensation based on funding/grant acquisitions with TA/DA covered
