Job Description

The Humane Space (www.thehumane.space) is seeking a highly creative and enthusiastic freelance photo editor for our educational app that helps adults build a daily practice of lifelong learning, curiosity, and self-reflection. This role is to support our Photo Editor.

Our app takes an interdisciplinary approach to learning and offers daily content on a wide variety of topics that range from geology to linguistics to literature.

The ideal candidate will be expected to search for imagery to illustrate the particular lifelong learning concepts in the app for a particular day. We would need you to have a firm understanding of Creative Commons licensing and vision for what kind of imagery best reflects our content. We need someone who is highly reliable, organized, and works well with others. Experience in sourcing imagery in the private and public domain is preferred.

Requirements

• At least three years of photo editing and research experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• A passion for innovative photography, video and illustration with a strong visual sensibility
• Knowledge of copyright laws and where to find imagery that’s in the public domain or available for commercial use
• Ability to work quickly but accurately
• Proficiency in Google Docs

Extra Information

• Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
