Job Description

Scotland’s International Environment Centre is seeking a skilled and experienced Frontend Developer to join their multidisciplinary team working on the Forth Environmental Resilience Array (Forth-ERA) program. The role involves designing and implementing web interfaces to provide users with access to environmental datasets and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in computing science, software engineering, or related field with experience in frontend development
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and familiarity with frontend frameworks like React and Angular
• Experience with web mapping libraries such as Mapbox and knowledge of version control software (e.g., Git)
• Ability to design and develop innovative web applications for visualizing geospatial and environmental datasets
• Strong interpersonal skills, time management, and a self-motivated approach
• Desirable criteria include a background in the environmental sector, knowledge of full-stack development, and experience with cloud environments like Microsoft Azure
