Job Description

The CBS owned and operated duopoly in West Sacramento is seeking a freelance news photographer/editor to work on CBS 13 and station 31. The ideal candidate will provide visual storytelling that complements talent’s narratives. Required experience includes more than three years in television news. Candidates should have proficiency in XDCAM EX cameras and GRASS VALLEY EDIUS editing systems, as well as live truck operations and the ability to travel at short notice. The role requires creativity, storytelling skills, and teamwork.

Requirements

• 3+ years of television experience covering breaking news, features, and sports
• Sound journalistic judgment
• Passion for visual storytelling
• Excellent lighting skills
• Deadline-oriented
• Proficient non-linear editor
• Experience with operating microwave, bonded-cellular packs, and/or satellite trucks
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work any shift
• Occasional travel is required

Additional Information

Hiring Salary Range: $26.30 - $30.54/hr
