Job Description
The IU Research Data Commons is seeking an entry-level front-end web developer to assist in creating a user-friendly set of resources related to research data across IU campuses. The role involves working closely with the product owner to translate designs into front-end code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The developer will construct new components and site sections using the Rivet Design System and Hugo static site generator templating language.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Work Experience: Some experience in web design or a related field
Skills:
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JS
- Basic programming concepts knowledge
- Understanding of web standards, policy, and UX
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with static site generators (e.g., Hugo, Jekyll)
- Experience with IU Rivet Design System or similar framework
- Proficiency in Git and Github
- Ability to parse relevant documentation and find additional answers
