Job Description

Java Back End Developer is required to work for a globally recognised Financial Services Organisation, on an initially 12-month contract based in Glasgow. The scope of the role has been confirmed INSIDE IR35. You will be required to work 3 days per week on client site.

Requirements

• Recent experience with using a JVM language (Java/Scala/Kotlin, preferably Java 11)
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and web technologies
• Understanding of relational databases
• Understanding of Data structures, Space / Time Complexity
• Experience in all stages of the software development life cycle
• Ability to write unit level tests using mocking frameworks and automate tests

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
• Understanding of dependency injection frameworks (Spring / Spring Boot, etc.)
• Understanding of security frameworks / standards
• Understanding of data streaming and messaging frameworks (Kafka, Spark, etc.)
• Understanding of distributed tracing and monitoring (Zipkin, OpenTracing, Prometheus, ELK stack, Micrometer metrics, etc.)
• Understanding of containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.)
• Experience in automating deployment, releases, and testing in continuous integration, continuous delivery pipelines
