Job Description:

As a Data Scientist at Munich Re Specialty Group (MRSG), you will be responsible for analyzing large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be used to drive better decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate closely with other members of the P&C insurance team to develop models that help understand and manage risks and improve customer experience. The position is on a Fixed Term Contract basis.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, organize, and analyze large data sets to derive insights for informing business decisions.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and product development teams to improve operations using data-driven insights.
• Build predictive models to identify risk factors and enhance underwriting accuracy.
• Develop machine learning algorithms for detecting fraudulent claims.
• Ensure secure storage and analysis of data by working with the IT team.
• Create dashboards and reports to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
• Stay updated with industry trends and technologies affecting the P&C insurance industry.
• Help drive good Conduct for the business to deliver the best customer outcomes.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a data science or similar role, preferably within the P&C insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of data analysis techniques, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
• Experience with large data sets and advanced data analysis tools like SQL, R, Python.
• Experience in developing predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• IT Skills (Tyche, SQL, Data Warehousing, Python, Power BI).
