Job Description

As a Freelance Community Musician at Musical Moments, you will deliver interactive and inclusive music-based activity sessions to Care homes and Community groups, with a particular specialism in Dementia and Disability care. Responsibilities include facilitating Musical Moments sessions, engaging with residents and participants, performing live on your instrument, leading singing and movement activities, and creating a positive and inclusive environment through music.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a musician, with proficiency in one or more solo musical instruments including Voice and Ukulele
• Ability to communicate effectively and confidently to a group and to engage with individuals with diverse backgrounds and abilities
• Understanding/interest in Dementia and disability care and the therapeutic benefits of music
• Strong creative skills to adapt to different environments and participants
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team
• Flexible schedule and availability to work at venues across York late mornings and Early afternoons
• Valid driver’s license and access to transportation
• Clean DBS

Other Information

This is a contract role for a Freelance Musician located in York. Full training and equipment will be provided for the role.
