Job Description

We are looking for a freelance musician/songwriter to join our professional theatre company for a new youth-led theatre production called Generation Anthropocene. The production focuses on the impact of climate change in local communities and the relationship between humans and nature. The ideal candidate will collaborate with actor/musicians, incorporating original music and songs into the play. Genres include folk music, and instruments like guitar, strings, piano, and percussion will be used. Some experience with a loop pedal is desirable.

The selected candidate will participate in rehearsals, exploring new ideas collectively to enhance the production. The role involves songwriting, music composition, and providing a recorded soundtrack for the touring show, which will run from July 2025 to September 2026. Pay is £185 per day, totaling £2590 for the project.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should be versatile, creative, and dedicated, capable of composing original music and songs in collaboration with others. Experience playing various instruments and the ability to use a loop pedal is a plus but not mandatory. Interested candidates should be available from September to December 2024 for a total of 14 days, including 7 days of rehearsal and 7 days of remote work.
