Job Description

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to improve our applications into user-friendly products for our clients. The responsibilities of this role include:

• Gathering and evaluating user requirements
• Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps
• Designing graphic user interface elements
• Building page navigation buttons and search fields
• Developing UI mockups and prototypes
• Creating original graphic designs
• Identifying and troubleshooting UX problems
• Conducting layout adjustments based on user feedback
• Adhering to style standards on fonts, colors, and images

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role (7 years required)
• Working on a variety of design projects involving web-based applications (7 years required)
• Knowledge of wireframe tools like Wireframe.cc and InVision (5 years required)
• Up-to-date knowledge and hands-on working experience in design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (5 years required)
• Ability to develop relationships with customers and exhibit a sense of urgency (7 years required)
• Organizational skills to prioritize and follow technical procedures (7 years required)
• Experience implementing SNAP and other federal programs as per policy requirements (7 years highly desired)
• Experience designing applications using social services products (5 years highly desired)
• Experience designing and/or developing dashboards using Power BI (4 years highly desired)
• Experience with Agile development (3 years highly desired)
• Experience designing applications using low code no code technologies (2 years highly desired)
• Knowledgeable in DevOps practices and Shift Left testing (2 years highly desired)

Other Information

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $32.50 - $39.14 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
