Job Description

The Los Angeles Times is seeking a video-forward digital media creator to join the De Los team. The role involves creating engaging social media content for the De Los Instagram and TikTok accounts focused on Latino culture and identity. The content creator will collaborate with editors and reporters to produce compelling social video content that resonates with the audience.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience creating content for the internet
• Proficiency in using audience data and analytics to make informed decisions
• Experience with analytics platforms like Chartbeat, Google Analytics, CrowdTangle, and native social media metrics
• Versatility in working with words, images, and video
• Ability to write for a digital audience and understand online tone and language
• Background in writing on Latino topics or working with Latino media outlets
• Portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating engaging online content
• Excellent multitasking abilities and effective communication skills
• Open to feedback and adaptable to changing work responsibilities

Additional Information

• This is a temporary, part-time position funded by the California Endowment
• Position is currently remote but will be based in El Segundo, Calif. with occasional night and weekend work
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle, and suitable auto insurance required for occasional travel
• Vaccination for COVID-19 and its variants is mandatory for all employees
