Job Description

If you’re a photographer and lover of all things comically awkward and a little bit retro, the Awkward Portrait Studio wants you! We need our photographers to take the guest experience at our photo studio to the next level by capturing professional and hilarious portraits. You’ll be responsible for directing each 15-minute shoot, capturing the portraits using professional photography equipment, engaging our visitors from behind the camera to ensure a hilarious and awesome time, and selecting the best photo options for our visitors to receive.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the photo studio room
• Manage professional camera and lighting equipment
• Capture portraits during each 15-minute session
• Work with groups or individual visitors
• Change backdrops and assist with group posing and prop placement
• Engage the visitors and bring an energetic and fun attitude to each shoot
• Perform job responsibilities with a creative flair that elevates the studio narrative
• Select the best 10 photos for digital sharing
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Proven professional photography experience
• Experience with lighting and studio equipment
• Experience managing and directing groups in a portrait or group photo setting
• Good understanding of the Awkward Family Photos brand
• A welcoming, fun and energetic demeanor is required!
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays

Compensation

Awkward Photographers will receive $20/hour.

Now, they’re opening a professional portrait studio for people to create those uncomfortable and hilarious moments on purpose! Welcome to the world of Awkward Family Photos: The Awkward Portrait Studio! Guests will have their photos taken with hilarious props and backdrops, receive 10 digital copies, and have the option to print and frame their photos in our shop!
