Job Description:

• Help create news content for WOI’s digital and social platforms.
• Report news quickly and accurately online, with an emphasis on audience experience and Google Search traffic.
• Post content to various platforms like WeAreIowa.com, social media, and YouTube.
• Monitor analytics to increase reader engagement and learn about top-performing stories.
• Scour the Internet for impactful stories, monitor incoming story tips, and participate in news meetings.

Requirements:

• Interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Experience as a digital journalist.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under deadlines.
• Understanding of media ethics and unbiased reporting.
• Experience with video production, SEO, or live analytics tools is a plus.
