Job Description

• Write articles, clip videos, post on social media, send push alerts and all other reporting efforts required of digital producers.
• Work with digital leadership to execute web strategies to achieve identified goals.
• Help spearhead breaking news efforts across digital, mobile, streaming, and social platforms.
• Assist with all NewsWest 9 digital, mobile, social, and streaming products, emphasizing content quality, SEO strategy, story layouts, headline testing, and conversational push alerts.
• Use digital and social analytics for content decisions in consultation with the senior digital producer.
• Edit content for accuracy and ethical journalism following NewsWest 9 and AP style guidance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain NewsWest 9 brand standards across all content.

Requirements

• BA/BS in journalism, communications, or related field
• 1 year of experience, college journalism experience considered
• Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems a plus
• Deep knowledge of AP style, grammar, and punctuation
• Understanding of professional journalism principles
• Knowledge of audience analytics tools like Taboola, Google Analytics, and Google Data Studio a plus
• Strong social media skills on platforms including Instagram and Facebook
• Knowledge of ENPS, Premiere, and Photoshop a plus
• Organizational skills and ability to work under constant time-pressure deadlines
• Ability to handle live, breaking news situations and changing events calmly
