Job Description

The Web Designer is responsible for design, build, improvement, and updating MacPhail.org and sub-brand web pages in collaboration with program and marketing staff to provide an exciting and user-friendly experience while adhering to MacPhail’s design standards.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining website pages, forms, and structures, encouraging consistent and creative web design, analyzing web analytics for SEO enhancement, and keeping updated on best practices in web design and development.

Requirements

Education: Degree or specialization in computer, interaction, or graphic design (with web emphasis) or equivalent experience.

Experience: 1-2 years of webmaster experience with graphic design skills demonstrated by a strong portfolio.

Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in WordPress and Adobe Design Suite, basic HTML understanding, experience in wireframing, web analytics, SEO, problem-solving, and graphic design skills. Knowledge of the latest web trends and technologies is essential with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Abilities: Ability to generate creative ideas, collaborate, maintain confidentiality, handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, work flexible schedules as needed, and understand cross-cultural conflicts effectively.

Other Information

Status: Non-exempt; part-time, 20 hours per week

Location: Minneapolis, hybrid eligible

Physical Demands: Sitting, typing, virtual meetings, infrequent lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
