Job Description

This role as Resident Visual Artist at Sense involves shaping and delivering a high-quality and inclusive visual arts programme, focusing on disabled-led artistic excellence and engaging the community.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver and organize sessions for individuals supported by Sense
• Work with Sense services to ensure all communication approaches have equal opportunities for creative exploration
• Train, mentor, and nurture disabled and non-disabled artists
• Create participatory opportunities for various groups
• Work with organizations and venues to make opportunities more accessible
• Create events, performances, and collaborations supporting the Sense Strategic Plan
• Advise and work with the national Sense Arts team
• Assist in selecting and evaluating artists

Requirements

• A first degree or equivalent in visual arts practice, management, or teaching
• Understanding and commitment to ensuring high quality, disability-led programs
• Considerable experience organizing and leading inclusive workshops
• Ability to build and maintain strong creative relationships
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Problem-solving skills and creativity
