Job Description
BBC Studios’ Natural History Unit (NHU) is seeking 2-3 Junior Camera Operators for an ambitious global production focusing on the natural history of insects called Hidden Planet. The role involves working on location worldwide and in a macro studio in Bristol. The Junior Camera Operators will assist in various aspects of production, from purchasing and testing equipment to developing filming techniques, preparing cameras, setting up equipment, managing data, and providing visual material for various platforms.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have experience in shooting in 4K+, macro filming techniques, and using innovative technology. Versatile camera skills, technical expertise in digital photography, strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, organisational skills, interest in natural history programming, experience in wildlife filming, and passion for the natural world are essential. The role requires resilience, patience, and a commitment to capturing detailed wildlife behavior, including working in remote and hostile environments.
