Job Description:

We are hiring for an Editor or Senior Editor to join our fast-growing Audio team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering a period of secondment in the team.

About Penguin Random House Audio:

At Penguin Random House Audio, the UK’s leading audiobook publisher, we are dedicated to making the very best audiobooks. We work with exceptional acting talent, producers, and studios to publish award-winning and bestselling audiobooks.

The Opportunity:

As an editor, you will work independently on big titles, casting actors, working with recording studios, and doing detailed editorial work on texts and briefs. You will work closely with authors, agents, narrators, and colleagues across the business.

Day-to-day tasks include being the first point of contact for publishing divisions, delivering creative production approaches, overseeing production schedules, and managing costs.

Requirements:

We are looking for candidates who have a love for audio and experience with the publishing process. You should have an author-focused approach, knowledge of the critical path of a finished book and audiobook, an understanding of how texts and voices intertwine, and a commercial mindset for market success.

The ideal candidate should be a strong team player with effective communication skills, organization, proactivity, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary:

Editor: From £31,500

Senior Editor: From £37,000

Hybrid Working:

Our offices are places for collaboration, but we offer flexibility in where you work. For this role, we expect you to be in our Embassy Gardens office around 3 days a week.
