Job Description

The Junior Data Scientist will join the advanced analytics group to assist in building advanced statistical, deterministic, and machine learning models for behavioral profiling related to the global shipping fleet. The role will involve customer-facing interactions, focusing on analytical model explainability and assisting sales and product colleagues in articulating model quality to customers.

Requirements

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
• Minimum 12 months experience in a junior data scientist or technical data analyst role
• Proficiency with Python for data extraction, analysis, and modeling
• Understanding of machine learning algorithms, predictive modeling, and data mining
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to develop code with SQL

Desirable:

• Experience with SAS platform or writing models in SAS
• Master’s degree in relevant field
• Proficiency with SAS Base or experience with cloud-based environments like AWS
• Prior experience in the Maritime industry, AIS knowledge is a plus
