Job Description

The North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) is seeking a temporary/full-time Social Media Specialist to organize the online community of educators and stakeholders. The Specialist will work under the Communications Director to implement a proactive social media strategy.

Responsibilities Include

• Represent NCAE’s brand on social media
• Organize NCAE members to amplify their voices
• Develop and implement a social media plan
• Create a social media influencer program
• Write content for social media platforms
• Design creative online content
• Set social media goals and track analytics
• Assist with social media best practices and media monitoring
• Perform additional assigned duties

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years of digital communications experience
• Understanding of social media platforms and best practices
• Creative and innovative mindset
• Commitment to member-led organizing work
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to develop content for diverse audiences
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-racism
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Collaborative team player
• Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary

Other Information

Location: Raleigh-based position with occasional state travel

Compensation: Annual salary of $61,681.00 plus benefits
