Job Description

Waitrose Food, the UK’s leading food and lifestyle magazine, is seeking a Picture Editor for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. The Picture Editor will be responsible for organizing food and portrait photoshoots, commissioning talent, managing photography budgets, collaborating with artists, agents, and stylists, and overseeing administrative tasks related to photography. The role involves attending editorial meetings, determining picture requirements, researching and commissioning pictures for various projects and providing support to the art team.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

• Experience in picture research, directing photoshoots, and working with food professionals.
• Experience in briefing photographers, negotiating fees and rights, and managing photography budgets.
• Strong administrative skills, including budget management and payroll.
