Contract: Temporary, Full Time

Job Description

The North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) is looking for a Social Media Specialist to manage the online community of educators and stakeholders. The Specialist will work with the Communications Director to develop and execute social media strategies.

Responsibilities Include

  • Represent NCAE on social media platforms
  • Organize NCAE members and storytellers online
  • Develop a social media plan and calendar
  • Create a network of influencers in North Carolina
  • Write content for social media, including TikTok and Instagram
  • Set and track social media goals
  • Support local affiliates with social media best practices
  • Monitor media coverage and update NCAE staff

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of digital communications experience
  • Experience managing social media platforms
  • Ability to design innovative programs
  • Commitment to member-led organizing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of equity, inclusion, and anti-racism
  • Project management skills with attention to detail
  • Collaborative and team-oriented
  • Willingness to work flexible hours

Location

The position is based at NCAE headquarters in Raleigh, with occasional travel within the state.

Compensation

This temporary position offers an annual salary of $61,681.00 plus benefits as per the NCAE/NCSO staff union contract.
