Job Description

The Assistant Audio Engineer position at VA SAM / E.M.P.I.R.E. Music Group LLC involves tasks such as setting up and recording sessions, troubleshooting and maintaining audio equipment and software, determining equipment needs, and assisting with general studio maintenance.

Requirements

• Must be available to travel to various studios periodically
• Must have interest and understanding of audio engineering, analog outboard gear, mics, and commercial studio equipment
• Must be able to track vocal & instrumental styles quickly and efficiently edit
• Thorough understanding of signal flow, mic functionality, and placement
• Must be able to multi-task, work independently, and prioritize tasks during sessions
• Strong initiative, flexibility, work ethic, and people skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and highly computer literate, specifically in ProTools
• Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of experience in audio editing
• Knowledge of Pro Tools, computer hardware and software, and audio recording techniques
• Ability to set up, calibrate, and operate studio-recording equipment
• Proficiency in audio recording, mastering, and editing techniques
• Adept at maintaining and repairing recording studio equipment

Additional Information

Job Types: Part-time, Internship

Pay: $15.00 - $22.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
