Job Description

The Freelance WGA Assignment Editor will be responsible for covering the CBS News Streaming Network assignment desk, coordinating news coverage, monitoring news wire services, producing social content, and assisting in editorial coverage decisions. They will work closely with various teams to ensure efficient live coverage, booking of guests, and coordinating remote feeds.

Requirements

Basic qualifications for this role include a minimum of 3 years of experience in a larger market newsroom, at least 2 years working as an assignment desk editor, and demonstrated experience in coordinating coverage for live television. The candidate must be available for early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays due to the 24-hour network operation.

Additional qualifications include the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, familiarity with ENPS/iNEWS, and experience with remote productions and transmission pools.
