Job Description:

We are looking for a WordPress Temporary Developer to create responsive designs based on Adobe XD or Figma using WordPress Full Site Editing. You will collaborate with the Digital Services Team to ensure project deadlines are met and work with the UNC Digital Accessibility Office for WCAG AA standards compliance.

The role involves developing and maintaining WordPress websites, focusing on pixel-perfect design, troubleshooting, integrating responsiveness, working with the University theme, and training site owners. The position offers the potential to transition to a direct position with UNC.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a WordPress developer with strong HTML and CSS skills
• Proficient in modern CSS techniques like Flexbox and Grid layouts
• Advanced debugging skills and experience with developer console
• Understanding of WordPress multisite setups, block editor, and full site editing
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Experience with digital accessibility standards and troubleshooting WordPress issues
• Knowledge of WordPress plugins like Events Calendar and Advanced Custom Fields
