Job Description:
Amazon is seeking a Jr. Software Development Engineer (SDE) who is currently enrolled in an accredited college or university Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program. The role involves writing real software, collaborating with experienced engineers, and contributing to impactful projects. Jr. SDEs have the opportunity to gain practical experience in solving complex technical challenges at Amazon.
As part of Amazon’s Jr. Developer Program, Jr. SDEs work year-round, with part-time hours during the school year and full-time hours during the summer. The role includes 1:1 mentoring with experienced Software Engineers and opportunities for growth and performance management. Successful candidates may transition to full-time employment upon completion of the program.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM field
- Graduating between June 2026 and beyond
- Ability to work year-round until graduation (part-time during school year, full-time in summers)
- Living within commutable distance to Sunnyvale, CA and able to work in-person year-round
- Programming experience with at least one modern language like Java, Python, or C++
- Previous technical internship(s), if applicable
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
- Adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems and thinking abstractly
