Job Description
The UNC African Studies Center is hiring a part-time animation specialist to create videos and animated educational content for K-5 digital learning on contemporary Africa. The specialist will work with a team of experts to adapt scripts into video formats. Length of videos will typically range between 30 seconds to 2 minutes. The expected output is 2 or 3 videos over the summer. Each video will take an estimated 5 to 12 hours to produce. Weekly hours will range between 5 to 14, depending on edits and revisions of the content.
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in audiovisual equipment operation and maintenance, graphic design, and/or photography; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience: Entry-level experience in animation production and professional videos. Proficiency rendering scripted material into illustrations, visuals, and digital formats. Proficiency in video and animation software and in adding voice overs to videos. Must be able to come to the UNC Global Education Center on select occasions.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience: Have a portfolio of completed projects. Experience working in African Studies.
