Job Description

This role involves providing accompaniment in rehearsals and performances for choral and music theater classes, as well as faculty performances. The responsibilities include sight-reading music, focusing on students or conductors, and maintaining a supportive learning environment. Individual preparation time is required for performance activities, along with coaching students, attending recitals, and assisting with expressivity and musical phrasing.

Requirements

The role requires special training or coursework to facilitate composing and improvising music, experience accompanying choral groups and soloists, knowledge of harmony fundamentals, and skill in playing musical instruments. Preferred qualifications include a Master of Music in collaborative piano or related fields, more than three years of accompanying/coaching experience, and a strong grounding in general music and vocal literature.
