Job Description:
Boston Conservatory at Berklee is seeking an A2 / Deck Sound Technician to support audio elements and concert logistics for musical theater productions. The role involves supervising the installation, maintenance, and distribution of wired and wireless microphones, emphasizing body mics for performers. Nights and weekends are required for this position. Attend technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and performances as assigned.
For the 2024-2025 season, the A2 will be needed on specific dates for productions including Jesus Christ Superstar, Alice By Heart, and Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812.
Requirements:
Minimum Job Qualifications: 1-3 years of experience as an A2 in a professional theater
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required:
- Ability to work independently and take direction
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Dropbox, Shure Wireless Workbench, Audinate’s Dante Controller software, and ClearCom FreeSpeak wireless intercom systems
- Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments
Other Information:
- Supervisory responsibilities may involve working closely with student workers
- Work environment includes indoor areas like stages, backstage, dressing rooms, etc.
- Physically able to lift and move 40 pounds and navigate stairs and ladders
