Job Description

The Ohio State University’s Office of Advancement seeks a professional writer to support the Advancement Marketing and Communications (AMC) team during the Time and Change: The Ohio State Campaign celebrations. The writer will communicate the impact of Ohio State through compelling storytelling and branded content. The role requires mastery in translating messaging into engaging content for various platforms, collaborating closely with team members across the university. The position contributes to an inclusive culture while embodying the university’s core values.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.

- Four (4) years of professional writing experience.

Desired Qualifications:

- Five (5) years of experience writing for publications.

- Advanced storytelling and research skills.

- Experience writing in a university setting.

- Understanding of philanthropic communications.

- Familiarity with social media marketing and digital storytelling trends.

- Superior writing, organizational, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

- This is a full-time (40 hours/week) temporary position for one year.

- A portfolio of writing samples is encouraged for applicants.

- The budget for this position is up to $70,000, and the offer will be based on internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications.
