Job Description
TelevisaUnivision is seeking a temporary News Photographer and Editor to shoot video and audio of news and other events for TV productions, both live and recorded. This role involves editing material to match scripts using non-linear, computer-based editing on company facilities, or via mobile equipment from remote locations.
Your daily tasks will include shooting and editing assigned and breaking news stories using ENG camera and non-linear editing equipment, as well as providing pictures and short videos for social media platforms. You will set up Live U equipment for live remote shoots, assist video editors in preparing videos for newscasts, operate and maintain news vehicles and equipment safely, and perform routine maintenance and light troubleshooting as needed.
There may also be responsibilities such as uploading video, digital pictures, and copy to the stationās website, as well as traveling for special assignments and covering other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. You will work closely with producers, assignment desk editors, video editors, and the chief photographer.
Requirements

- Self-motivated, well-organized, and possess excellent personal interaction skills.
- Detail-oriented, able to follow directions and make independent decisions.
- A valid Driverās license with a clean driving record is essential, as driving a news vehicle daily is part of the job.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays, weekends, evenings, and during inclement weather.
- Two or more years of experience as a news photographer in a TV news or similar environment is preferred.
- Personal computer experience, including non-linear editing.
- Knowledge of lighting techniques is a plus.
- High School Diploma is required; a college degree or technical school training in relevant fields is preferred.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Ability to lift and carry broadcast video equipment (approximately 50 pounds).
- Capability to drive a vehicle, bend, and set up equipment for remote transmission.
- Able to sit for long periods of time and possess good vision and hearing acuity.
- Manual dexterity in the use of keyboard, videotape machines, cameras, and other broadcast equipment is required.
- Able to work in outdoor and inclement weather conditions.
