Job Description

The University of Pennsylvania is seeking a video operator to record classes for review and development, supporting instructors across a variety of disciplines. The role involves coordination with the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Innovation (CETLI) staff to manage class visit scheduling. Due to varying demand, hours for this position may range from zero to 15-20 hours per week throughout the school year.

Responsibilities

• Record classes upon request, including equipment pickup, classroom setup, and troubleshooting during recordings.
• Manage recording schedule by communicating regularly with CETLI staff and reliably responding to requests.
• Monitor recording equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and 0-1 year of experience.
• Familiarity with digital recording equipment, including camcorders, sound checks, and tripod setup.
• Excellent communication skills for scheduling and understanding needs.
• Reliability, as staff and instructors depend on scheduled class observations.
• Background check may be required after a conditional job offer.
