Job Description

CBS O&O in Dallas (KTVT) is seeking a dynamic and enterprising temporary Freelance Digital Content Producer. The candidate will be responsible for producing and cultivating content for CBS DFW branded digital platforms, including the live local streaming network, station website, and various social media accounts. They will also work closely with station talent to enhance the reach of published content on social media.

The role requires a solid understanding of journalism processes and ethics, along with the ability to write, edit, and arrange story placements in the streaming rundown. The individual should have experience with several social media platforms and an understanding of how to effectively engage with viewers. Basic knowledge of metrics analysis to evaluate performance is also necessary. Responsibilities include generating and uploading content related to breaking news, sports, and entertainment, including audio/video material and AP style written content.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in creating and building show rundowns in cable, broadcast, or digital environments.
• Ability to write teases, stories, and headlines for Broadcast as well as AP style written content.
• Experience with broadcast rundown and editing software; WordPress experience is helpful.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
• Attention to detail while working well under pressure to meet fast-paced deadlines.
• Thorough knowledge of social media and the competitive digital news environment.
• Proven strategies for sourcing and creating content for all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
• A passion for owning breaking news on all digital platforms first.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends, with the flexibility to work extended hours during breaking news situations.
