Job Description

The Part-time Designer is an expert in custom space design with extensive knowledge of storage and organization solutions offered by The Container Store. This position serves as a strong role model, exhibiting excellent selling skills while prioritizing exceptional customer service. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, including daytime, evenings, and weekends, and is classified as a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple customer projects through all phases with high accuracy and timeliness while maintaining clear communication.
• Collaborate with customers to design and present customized plans professionally.
• Close sales effectively and build repeat and referral business.
• Communicate with Managers and Support Center partners to achieve sales goals.
• Serve as a brand ambassador, supporting company initiatives and modeling professional behaviors.
• Stay current on training, product knowledge, and company processes.
• Participate in maintaining the custom spaces showroom and visual presentation.
• Handle cash and valuables securely and maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist customers with personal confidential information.
• Arrive promptly for scheduled shifts and maintain discretion with confidential information.
• Perform additional tasks as requested.

Requirements

• College degree preferred.
• 2-5 years of sales and clientele experience preferred.
• Professional appearance and adherence to dress code.
• Knowledge and passion for custom spaces and retail trends.
• Strong computer skills, particularly in Outlook, Word, and knowledge of Excel and Salesforce.
• Ability to maintain alertness and work safely.
• Commitment to scheduled hours with flexibility for additional hours.
• Clear and effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and focus on high-value projects.
• Positive attitude and passion for knowledge.
• Strong time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capable of strategic decision-making for the benefit of customers and the company.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
