Job Description

Planet Interactive is looking for a Video Editor to join our well-known Fortune 500 client on a 3-month contract. This role is 100% remote-based, working 40 hours per week. The Video Editor needs to be co-located to a HUB, which includes Cupertino, Culver City, or New York City. The pay for this position is up to $84.45/hour, depending on experience, and includes benefits such as health, dental, and vision.

Responsibilities

• Manipulating and editing footage together in a way that matches a creative brief and tells a cohesive story.
• Trimming footage segments and assembling the sequence of the film for in-app content.
• Final online assembly of graded and mixed files.
• Using compression guidelines to meet proper delivery specifications.
• Managing the creative review process, addressing notes, and collaborating with the team.
• Retaining highly organized projects from initial edit through various localization deliveries.
• Working with the director/brief to achieve the desired end result.
• Overseeing the quality of how the story is visually presented.
• Reordering and fine-tuning content for logical information flow.
• Creating and testing graphic design elements for brand cohesion.
• Consulting with internal and external partners to ensure proper goals are met.
• Suggesting/selecting music and editing music tracks for emotional effect.
• Finalizing technical aspects to ensure quality and proper delivery format.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience using Final Cut Pro and After Effects.
• Proficiency in supporting applications such as Photoshop and Resolve.
• Degree in BSc/BA Graphic Design or Visual Communications or equivalent work experience.
• Experienced editor through a wide variety of productions (TV, documentary, marketing/social, corporate).
• Experience within the gaming space or a passion for it.
• MUST include a portfolio with the application.
