Job Description

Softwear Developer, 6 months, Outside IR35, £460 per day. Edinburgh or Glasgow based.

Parity Group are delighted to partner with our client, a prestigious public sector organisation, who are looking to recruit a Developer on an initial 6 month contractual basis. Hybrid working requires weekly attendance at client offices in either Glasgow or Edinburgh.

The role focuses on the collaborative development of new serverless micro-services using AWS Lambda functions and Typescript/JavaScript, and requires solid commercial AWS development experience to accelerate the organisation’s move to new cloud-native solutions.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with the following experience and skills:

• Commercial experience with AWS including: CDK, Serverless (Lambda), S3, API Gateway, and Cloud Formation.
• Proficiency in TypeScript (or modern JavaScript).
• Experience in making excellent quality software collaboratively.
• Ability to work with business stakeholders to understand context and deliver value.
• Design and implementation of solutions using a service-based and serverless architecture.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience working in Agile delivery models, such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud monitoring, telemetry, and intelligence tools and processes.
• Familiarity with formal XP engineering techniques, including Pair Programming and Test-Driven Development.
• Experience in defining infrastructure-as-code.

Additional Information

This contract is offered at a daily rate of up to £460 and is classified as outside IR35. Candidates should be willing to support and deliver disaster recovery assurance of digital services, striving for a sustainable Recovery Time Objective of 2 hours and a Recovery Point Objective of zero.
