Job Description

We are currently seeking mid-level packaging designers to join our fast-paced and driven art department. In this role, you will be responsible for designing packaging and promotional materials, which include mock-ups, presentations, DTP, catalogue creation, flyer design, product photography, deep etching, retouching for print, and repro of your work for print. You will also engage in brand creation and logo design, requiring knowledge of corporate identity design, illustration, and pattern making.

You will be expected to problem-solve, self-monitor your time, check your own work, and maintain consistency. The ability to work quickly is essential, as is the capacity to read and adjust die lines according to new sizes. As a senior member of the team, you will need to perform at a higher level, producing polished and original designs faster than junior designers. Additionally, you may occasionally mentor and assist junior designers.

It is crucial that you have a robust understanding of the print process, different methods of printing onto various finishes, transfers, color separation, print preparation, and repro, as this knowledge is non-negotiable.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent in design

• One to two years of proven working experience within a studio or agency in packaging, presentations, and layout (DTP)

• Understanding of repro for print (NB)

• Understanding of best practices for print (NB)

• Ability to read dielines and amend dies as needed (NB)

• Portfolio of packaging work

• Working knowledge of Adobe Suite

• Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, PDF, and Excel

• PC or Mac literate

Advantageous

• 3D design skills using Blender
