Job Description
Softwear Developer, 6 months, Outside IR35, Β£460 per day. Edinburgh or Glasgow based.
Parity Group are delighted to partner with our client, a prestigious public sector organisation, who are looking to recruit a Developer on an initial 6 month contractual basis. Hybrid working; you will be required to attend client offices in either Glasgow or Edinburgh on a weekly basis. You will receive a daily rate of up to Β£460, and the contract will be outside IR35.
Our client is looking for an experienced developer with solid commercial AWS development experience to accelerate the organisationβs move to new cloud-native solutions. The focus of the work will be the collaborative development of new serverless micro-services using AWS Lambda functions and Typescript/JavaScript.
Requirements
β’ Commercial experience with the following technology:
- AWS including: CDK, Serverless (Lambda), S3, API Gateway, Cloud Formation
- TypeScript (or modern JavaScript)
β’ Experience in:
- Making excellent quality software with other people.
- Working with business stakeholders to understand the context and focus on delivering value.
- Design and implementation of solutions using a service-based and serverless architecture.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience working in Agile delivery models - such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks.
- Cloud monitoring, telemetry, intelligence tools, and processes.
- Formal XP engineering techniques, including Pair Programming and Test-Driven Development.
- Defining infrastructure-as-code.
Additional Information
Responsibilities will include:
- Continued development and support of products in line with the product and architecture roadmaps.
- Demonstrating excellent, sustainable, and collaborative software development practice focused on delivering highly readable, maintainable, and appropriate artefacts.
- Participating in all team events, leading where specialist knowledge is required, and supporting the team to improve their process through inspection and adaptation.
- Troubleshooting and fixing development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
- Engaging with the wider communities of practice and interest to share knowledge, technique, and experience.
- Coaching and mentoring other team members as necessary.
- Ensuring a high quality of developed solutions through the development and maintenance of unit tests, with appropriate code coverage and code analysis using code quality tools.
- Ensuring that developed software complies with non-functional software requirements such as accessibility, security, UI/UX, performance, maintainability, and deployability.
- Routinely using collaborative development practices such as pairing and mobbing techniques in programming, code reviews, system design, and requirements analysis.
- Supporting and delivering the disaster recovery assurance of digital services, striving towards a sustainable Recovery Time Objective of 2 hours and Recovery Point objective of zero, assured at 6 weekend points over the course of a fiscal year.
