Job Description

We are seeking a UI Developer to join our team in Newark, Delaware, in a hybrid role. Candidates nearby are preferred. The position is a W2 contract requiring a minimum validity of 16 months. The ideal candidate should possess a strong skill set in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular/React, along with as many additional skills as possible. Typically, this role requires 5-6 years of experience.

Requirements

The following skills and experiences are required for this role:

1. Proficient in HTML
2. Experience with GIT distributed version control, branching/merge strategies, and Bitbucket
3. Strong understanding of front-end design patterns and principles including:

• Responsive Web Design
• MVC
• BEM
• OOCSS
• Event Delegation
• Modules
• Singletons
• Prototypes
• Mixins
• Publish/Subscribe
• XHR
• Server-side vs client-side

1. Solid understanding of AJAX for fetching data from service endpoints to render dynamic web content
2. Strong grasp of semantic HTML and CSS3 (SASS), layouts, responsive design, and accessibility (WCAG 2.1)
3. Experience with front-end and accessibility tools such as:

• Devtools
• Web Fiddler
• Visual Studio (or preferred IDE)
• JAWS, Voiceover, Talkback

1. Comfortable reviewing UX wireframes and efficiently building corresponding UI; works with UX partners and proactively identifies design risks to deliver applications for high-traffic websites
2. Familiarity with performance optimization tools (e.g., Lighthouse) and techniques (image compression, lazy loading, bundling, sprites, etc.)
3. Familiarity with Node, NVM, and NPM
4. Experience with Vanilla JS (ES6) and modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g., Vue, React, Polymer, Angular, Handlebars, jQuery, etc.)
