Job Description

Visual Architects is an organisation of creatives, artisans, builders, thinkers and riggers, formed in 2013 as a sister company to illumiNaughty. With extensive knowledge of event production, Visual Architects provides tailored services across the UK and internationally, including locations such as Dubai, Ibiza, California, Croatia, and Saudi Arabia. We are currently seeking a Scenic Painter/Artist responsible for collaborating with the Scenic Designer/Coordinator on various tasks involving the laying out, priming, painting, texturing, sculpting, detailing, and maintenance of hard scenic items and backdrops. The role operates from Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, at our location in Unit 1, Crown Point South Industrial Park, King Street, M34 6PF.

Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Ability to interpret designs and renders to create immersive environments.
  • Experience with prep work including sanding, filling, priming, painting, texturing, sculpting, detailing, and finishes.
  • Proficient in painting a range of 3D props and stage sets.
  • Experience in hand sculpting and carving polystyrene models and shapes.
  • Assisting the prop and scenic painting department on all projects as needed.
  • Touch-up and maintenance of existing completed props.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with the team.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace and tool maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with colleagues and clients.
