Job Description
BigBear.ai is seeking a UX/UI Designer who is an expert in UI design, UX design, and front-end development to join our growing company. You will be natural at understanding human-computer interaction design (HCID), coming up with elegant solutions to improve our application, and developing on a modern JavaScript framework.
You will conduct research to understand usersā digital interactions and habits, develop UI and UX strategies based on our goals, and create and maintain digital assets such as interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mockups using prototyping tools. Additionally, youāll design, build, and maintain highly reusable JavaScript, HTML, and CSS code while understanding the limitations of our tech stack and providing technical advice wherever necessary.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelorās Degree and 8 to 10 years of experience (or 6 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelorās degree)
- Experience working and developing applications in modern JavaScript libraries such as Vue, React, and Angular
- A portfolio or live examples of code produced
- Knowledge of pre-processors/transpilers such as PUG/SCSS/Babel
- Experience working with NodeJS
- Experience with GIT and familiarity with code versioning practices on large teams (e.g., branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews)
- Proficiency with image authoring tools like Photoshop or Illustrator
- Proficiency with wireframing/design tools like Mock Plus, Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD
- Expert knowledge of CSS, CSS extension languages (Less, Sass), and CSS preprocessor tools
- Expert knowledge of HTML5 and its best practices
- Proficiency in designing interfaces and building clickable prototypes using Sketch, InVision, Axure, etc.
- Proficiency using the command line
Additional Preferences:
- Experience as a front-end developer and UI/UX designer
- Experience writing semantic-accessible HTML and CSS (Flex/Grid/CSS Custom Properties/CSS Functions/Scalable CSS) utilizing BEM naming methodology
- Experience with modern JavaScript (ESNext), including working with features such as Module Syntax and native Web Components
- Experience with C# or .NET technologies (helpful but not required)
