Job Description

Intervenant.e/Animateur.trice jeunesse at Villeray dans l’Est is an organization aimed at promoting and organizing diverse activities, fostering citizen participation and mobilization, and encouraging civic initiatives. Through local engagement, it seeks to contribute to developing a sense of belonging, which is conducive to improving the living conditions of the population in Villeray affected by various forms of social and economic exclusion.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting, welcoming, and listening to youth aged 13 to 23;
  • Animating and coordinating a youth committee;
  • Developing, organizing, and executing activities and special projects in collaboration with youth related to specific issues;
  • Referring youth to qualified resources when necessary;
  • Contributing with other community partners to improve the living conditions of youth and to prevent incivilities, delinquency, and acts related to youth crime;
  • Representing the organization in various community instances;
  • Writing various reports, assessments, and promotional documents related to activities;
  • Supporting the implementation of Villeray dans l’Est’s activity programming;
  • Participating in other related tasks of the organization.

Requirements

Qualifications sought:

  • Training related to social intervention (university or college) or significant experience working with youth;
  • Experience in animation;
  • Understanding of the community environment and social issues;
  • Knowledge of cultural communities in the neighborhood is an asset;
  • Good communication skills in French; knowledge of other languages is an asset;
  • Writing skills;
  • Computer skills (Office Suite, Canva, etc.).

  • Commitment and leadership;
  • Demonstrates listening, empathy, respect, and interpersonal skills;
  • Good skills in mobilizing youth and ability to inspire the emergence of ideas;
  • Autonomous, organized, and meticulous;
  • Team spirit and ability to work in a participative management context.

Other Information

Work conditions:

  • Schedule: 20 to 23 hours a week (mainly in the evenings and occasionally on weekends);
  • Hourly rate between $22 and $24 depending on experience;
  • Start date as soon as possible.
