Job Description
We are seeking a Content Designer with a strong digital content background to join the FCA in Leeds on an initial 6 months contract. Ideally, you will have previous experience within a government or a financial services organisation, but candidates from other industries will also be considered.
As a Content Designer at our client, you will work within a specialist user-centred design (UCD) team to help increase the maturity of UCD across the organisation. You will collaborate with experienced content designers on emerging multi-disciplinary digital product teams to design new products and services that assist users in achieving their goals.
Requirements
Essential Skills:
- Experience working as a Content Designer in sectors such as financial services, government/regulatory bodies, technology, or IT consultancy.
- Experience in a project/programme environment involving digital transformation and business changes.
- An understanding of language and human behaviour for communicating complex information in a straightforward manner.
- Familiarity with user-centred design practices and how content design integrates with other roles.
- Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data about users to inform content design decisions.
- Experience in writing, editing, and publishing digital content, along with proficiency in content management systems.
- Understanding various prototyping techniques, from paper sketches to coded prototypes, and their appropriate application.
- Capability to identify key stakeholders, understand their needs, and manage relationships effectively.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience delivering government digital services in line with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.
- Experience designing for accessibility.
- Understanding of how content design fits into the wider UCD strategy and when compromises might be necessary.
- Business acumen in either financial services or financial regulation.
Work Model: This role will be working on a hybrid model of 2 days office based and up to 3 days work from home.
