Job Description

Responsible for creating illustrated posters, pins, logos, and other print materials related to AALAS’ needs, including events such as the National Meeting and Tech Week. The contractor must be able to take instructions on the requested design and make any necessary edits. This is a contractor position, compensated by project or negotiated hourly rate, and work is expected to be completed in a timely manner agreed upon by both parties. The company is based in Memphis, TN, but the contractor may live anywhere and work fully remotely, while being willing to communicate during US central time zone business hours.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in art or graphic design preferred.
• Proficient in software including, but not limited to, Adobe Illustrator or similar illustration platforms.
• Ability to format illustrated images for publication and print, including understanding of margins, sizing requirements, proofing processes, etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
• Strong initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently without close supervision.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Must have own computer/home office setup, Adobe Suite subscription, and a digital drawing tablet.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide as-needed services for AALAS’ illustration needs on a per-project basis.
• Take direction in the creation of digital graphic elements and work with specific specifications to complete the project.
• Create the Tech Week Poster, design multiple enamel pins, and create a logo for the Technician Fun Fair each year.
• Available for contracting any additional illustrated graphics AALAS may require.
• Create and design content with Adobe Illustrator or other tools as needed.

Additional Information

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected Hours: 6 – 15 per week

Schedule: Choose your own hours
